Assalamu-alaikum readers and IYGers,
Earlier this morning, our young men put on their explorer hats on and went down to visit a two-story brick building on 4th Street in Lafayette. What was so unique about this building you may be wondering? Well it contained the Imagination Station! Inside our youth had the opportunity to learn how to make green slime, observe Ferrofluid move, reflect lasers off of mirrors into a tiny chamber, try on a firefighter’s suit, build a GIANT arch, and construct an amazing domino display (see the two videos in the posts below for proof). For a visual tour of our trip to the station of imagination, please check out the pictures below:
NourEldin questions mentor Oguz, “what’s inside the big brown building?” Well let’s find out!
Mujtaba, Murtaza, and Omar try their hand with some cool-looking blocks. I wonder what they are building?
AN ARCH! They built a gateway to somewhere…
Danyal and Omar decide to chillax and play a friendly game of chess with a rather large chess set.
Log jam at the Lego’s station…
Ata, Shujath, Abdelrahman, Mohamed, and Mustafa use Lego’s to build several cool contraptions.
Ahmed proudly displays his super-cool spaceship made entirely from Lego’s!
Hasan and NourEldin test if their wooden house can withstand the test of an earthquake! Hold onto your hats!
Ferrofluid at work!
Mujtaba and Danyal succeed in reflecting a red laser off a mirror into a tiny chamber…IN 0.04 SECONDS!!! Wowzers!
Our youth get creative and build an unbelievable display from giant dominoes (check out the videos below for the finished product)!
