Earlier this week, on Tuesday, our community held our second holiday of the year, Eid-ul-Adha. There was a beautiful Eid sermon delivered by Br. Sohail on the topic of the parent-child relationship. Eid-ul-Adha is a day which commemorates the act of worship Allah, azza wa jal, commanded Prophet Ibrahim, alayhis sallam, to perform with his son Prophet Isma’il, alayhis sallam. After the sermon, there was a nice community breakfast before everyone dispersed.

Tonight, the youth group held its first (of what we hope are many) Eid Dinner. After Isha prayer at the ISGL, we drove to Blue Nile Restaurant on Chauncey Hill. Blue Nile is a cozy restaurant (behind Potbelly’s) with a nice variety of Arabic dishes. They even serve chicken biryani! Each one of the youth ordered a main dish before we went around the (large) table discussing what each brother did for Eid-ul-Adha. After dinner, the youth shared dessert…a nice delicious slice of cheesecake.

Special thanks to Br. Ahmad Kadura for joining us for the Eid Dinner! We would also like to thank Br. Hani, his wife, and the service staff for being excellent hosts for the dinner!
