Earlier this afternoon, our IYG youngsters turned in their monopoly money for some cold-hard green dollars. That’s right, today marked the annual challenge our mentors give to our Halalapalooza participants to determine who are the top businessmen in our youth group. The lunch sale provides an opportunity for our young men to learn an important life skill related to raising money for an important cause or project. Working with their parents (and siblings), members of the IYG prepared many delightfully delicious treats which you could have purchased for a mere few dollars. We say could have because there were only a few crumbs left from the lunch table after our youth were done selling their creative lunch treats. From the famed chicken & rice dish (always a crowd pleaser) to giant blue brownies to perfecto pizza, there were dishes for all to enjoy. After 30 minutes of non-stop business, the cash register closed for the day. As a group, our young men raised over $270 ma shaa Allah to use for future IYG activities. Congratulations to all of the participants on an excellent job at the lunch sale today!
