Assalamu-alaikum (peace be upon you) IYGers, readers, writers, and fellow bloggers,

Earlier today, our youth took a trip south to a beautiful treasure known as Turkey Run State Park. After spending the past few weeks of summer cooped up in Tippecanoe County, today served as a reward for our hard-working young men. After rising earrrrrrrlllyyy in the morning, packing a hearty lunch, and running a few laps around the house to get the muscles warmed up, our youth arrived at the ISGL excited for Camp Taqwa. Camp Taqwa included many fun activities (did anyone say canoeing through a rain storm?), several important bonding moments (none better than trying to link together 4 canoes parallel to one another down a creek), many smiles/laughs, and multiple educational lessons on topics ranging from the power of unity/teamwork to describing a characteristic called taqwa. Against a breath-taking backdrop of green trees, cool water, and rocky hills, our youth gained a deeper appreciation for the majesty and power of Allah, subhanahu wa ta’ala. We hope you enjoy the photo tour below from our IYG Camp Taqwa trip:

We have arrived! Ahmed let's you know he's totally awesome. Nabeel looks quite focused and composed on the fence in the background.

Our beautiful tour bus is ready to transport us to Sugar Creek for canoeing! Sadly our electronic devices can't come because they failed to dress properly for canoeing.

Mom! Dad! We survived the canoe trip (but did get a tad bit wet as you can tell)...

...well everything survived except for Abdelrahman's shoe. Somewhere in Sugar Creek lies his sneaker, may it rest in peace.
